Packing

You would think that I'm a crackhead with how paranoid I get about certain things. I'm quite worried that I'll forget to bring something important that I'll need. So perhaps I can use this blog to my advantage...
I know that I know a lot of people who've spent time overseas. If you are one of these people, do you have any tips of what I should bring? Have any of you forgotten something important when you left, or brought something that you couldn't live without?
Help!

  1. You MUST bring an umbrella. It is essential. Since I walked everywhere, I would constantly have an umbrella because the weather would change so much. Also, bring Euros, dont count on exchanging all your money over there... it's nice to have some cash right away since the ATMs cost you money to withdrawl. Also I brought American gum, because I was addicted to stride ... but I don't think you have that problem, Noah. Biggest advice: pack light! After all, they lost my luggage :)

  2. I emailed you a list of stuff...hope you got it. BUT, to summarize:

Nalgene of sorts, gum/special snacks you love, lotions/bathroom products (they get expensive!), layers for clothes...scarves!, and if you're planning on working out bring two pairs of running shoes (ALSO very expensive abroad). happy packing and blogging! Have fun!!!!

  3. Definitely agree with bfontana :) PACK LIGHT!

Layers are essential. Especially in Europe when it gets cold out, you're going to dying for that big comfy sweater you left at home! The best things I packed...hmm, let's see... 1) My dozens of pictures to put on my bare wall... 2) Small journal i got for Christmas to write some addresses for postcards and also bring on little trips to record short memories and favorite "aussie quotes/slang"... and 3) My "Flight of the Conchords-Season 1" dvd. The internet tends to be slow outside of America, so you may find catching up on good ole' fashioned American tv shows or movies to be difficult.

p.s. writing in a blog is not about being the best writer (below post)! no one is judging :) everyone is just dying to know what you are up to so we can all be jealous when you go into great detail about the hilarious stories and adventures you've been a part of!!!
    Have a blast!!!!
